If there’s one word that summarises our 2019, it’s BIG. 2019 was the year that The Curve Fashion Festival returned back to our favourite venue – the Exhibition Centre Liverpool – and we made sure that our return came with a bang. Over 3,400 people descended upon Liverpool’s world-class exhibition space for a day filled with action.

Visitors were treated to the best in plus size fashion; hearing their favourite personalities talk about their experiences, getting a glimpse at exclusive pieces on catwalk and shopping all of the newness from the best brands in the curve fashion world. There’s just so much we could talk about, but the photos from the day tell you exactly how this year’s event went.

Really and truly, we were spoiled by the number of big personalities from the curve community that chose to join us for The Curve Fashion Festival 2019. Whether it was on the Main Stage, on some of the brand’s stands, or those that just came down to enjoy the day, all of our attendees saw some familiar faces.

Maybe we should just give you a list of all the people that made an appearance this time: Hayley Hasselhoff, Eddie Hall, Sandra Marvin, Felicity Hayward, Amber Rose Gill, Olivia Campbell, Kelvin Davis, Louise O’Reilly, Savanna Sievers, Danielle Vanier, Lucy Vixen, Jada Sezer, Sofie Hagan, Chloe Elliott, Brielle Anyea, Georgina Horne, Yazmin Fox, Callie Thorpe, Em Smyth, Lucie Clifford, Chloe Pierre, Nicole Ocran, Laura Ferry, Jess Millichamp.

With Simply Be as our Main Stage sponsor, we were able to make sure this year’s was packed full of fun. Each feature was unique and gave people unique perspectives about what it’s like to navigate the world as a plus size person. Each of the segments were different, ranging from styling sessions to body positivity.

As per 2018’s event, Laura Bodie was our host and made sure the audience got the chance to give their input and get their questions answered too. Once each of the speakers were finished on the stage, they were kind enough to stay around for a meet and greets, giving everyone the chance to grab a selfie with their favourite plus size influencers.

Kelvin Davis and Sofie Hagen: A Lesson of Body Positivity

You asked and we listened; we got some male perspective on the matter. Body positivity applies to everyone, so we drafted in the South Carolina-based plus size male model and influencer Kelvin Davis to discuss his personal journey alongside comedian Sofie Hagen.

Hayley Hasselhoff and Sandra Marvin: Being Plus Size and a Celebrity in the Media

Fresh off the back of her X Factor Celebrity appearance, we got Hayley Hasselfhoff to discuss her experience of being plus size and in the public eye, as one of This Morning’s fashion experts and as a model. Speaking alongside her was the former Emmerdale star, Sandra Marvin, who’s time on stage and screen gave her plenty of insights to share.

Em Smyth: The Key to Any Great Outfit is Great Underwear

One glance at Em Smyth’s Instagram account will tell you that she’s a big fan of underwear, and feels no need to keep it a secret. Her segment put bras and knickers at the front and centre, by showing what well-fitting underwear will do to enhance your figure and bring out the best in your outfits.

Olivia Campbell: Building a Community Through Social Media

Social media has changed the world. There’s no denying it. One way that you can’t escape is its ability to form develop and create communities. Plus size model and influencer Olivia Campbell made sure to highlight exactly how she was able to leverage this in her journey to get to where she is today.

The Ultimate Styling Session with Lucie Clifford

Lucie’s exactly the type of person you need to show you how to make the most of an outfit and dress for any occasion.
