Headquartered in Liverpool, Matalan is a well-known high street retailer. With 217 stores nationwide, there’s probably a Matalan in your town. They get bonus points for creativity – their plus size range is called Papaya Curve, which quite frankly sounds delicious. And they’re doing a good job on the plus-size fashion front, as well. We’re super excited to have the Matalan team BACK for The Curve Fashion Festival 2019.
Their stand went down a storm at last years event. From illustrations to Main Stage discussions with Danielle Vanier. They sold their plus size range at the event which we know you all loved and we can’t wait to see what they bring with them for TCFF19.
Papaya Curve offers sizes from 18 up to 28 – a little more generously cut than many other high street plus-size ranges. The clothes are quietly stylish: think muted zebra print midi dresses and stripy Bardot tops. They’re wardrobe staples that aren’t boring and bring a little zest to your wardrobe.
This is a good place to go for solid basics, and for pieces that won’t go out of style. As many items in this range are block-coloured and fairly timeless cuts, you’ll be able to wear them for many years to come – saving your pockets and the planet at the same time!
As well as this, it’s especially good for smart-casual office wear, and for cosy lounge outfits. This is because the range has a focus on tailoring and cuts; each item in the Papaya Curve range is designed to flatter and to celebrate plus-size shapes. As you might expect, they have lots of lovely flowing dresses. They also have trousers which – gasp – actually fit, something that’s not always easy to find in the plus-size world. You can easily create a chic capsule wardrobe from the range, which we LOVE!
