River Island - Valentines Day Outfit Inspiration
There’s only a few days left before Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re prepping for a romantic date, a girlie get together or you just want a new fierce outfit, we’ve browsed the River Island Plus collection to bring you THE outfit of sassy dreams.
Let’s start with the little black dress, something that used to be a plus size myth (unless you wanted a bin bag, trust me I know!). River Island definitely do some of the best little black dresses for the plus size woman and this layered lace number is so pretty. With its scalloped hem and simple design it’s a date night winner. Then we chose the white bardot shirt, because it’s sharp, fresh and with a little edge to it (plus you can wear it again and again!) Match alongside the high waisted ‘mom’ jeans with the knee rip and distressed finished. It’s a casual look but one that ticks all the fashion boxes. Being comfortable is just as important as looking good. Mix them both together for confidence scoring points!
Then we have the accessories. Accessories can make or break any outfit. It’s Valentine’s Day, so it would be rude not to include a small touch of red. These scorching red suede court shoes are wide fit (Yes! Hooray!) And would pair nicely with either outfit choice. The same goes for the cream leopard print clutch bag. Animal print works like a base, it goes with (almost) anything. Scrap that - it goes with anything and instantly adds some VA VA VOOM to any outfit. No matter how simple or detailed a bag like this will always work. Another advantage is the wrist strap, making sure you don’t lose your bag when dancing the night away. It’s big enough for the essentials on Valentine’s Day – phone, money and lipstick!
We love that the River Island Plus collection now ranges from sizes 18 to 28, and has expanded so much since it’s launch. They went down an absolute storm at The Curve Fashion Festival 2016 and so many of you told us that you LOVED the range. It’s really brought plus size fashion to the front line and we can’t wait to have them at this year’s festival.
