Pretty Little Thing ARE BACK!
If you’re living in the UK and are even just slightly interested in fashion, you probably don’t need me to tell you about Pretty Little Thing. They’re one of the most well known online retailers at the moment, with thousands of styles and sizes on offer. The Pretty Little Thing team made a bang at The Curve Fashion Festival last year. From hosting the best curve slumber party ever to creating a peachy heaven stand in the fashion hall – with goodies being given away all day!
Pretty Little Thing has been in the news for its support of plus-size women a few times. In 2018, its use of plus-size models in Instagram posts drew a lot of flak for “promoting obesity”, prompting owner Umar Kamani to release a statement in support of diverse body shapes. “Our aim is not just to sell clothes”, he said, “but to fill girls with confidence and happiness through the way they dress… We will continue to support all body sizes and shapes and we will continue to build a brand that actually cares about our customer deeper than just selling to them.” We’re big fans of Umar at TCFF. Not only for giving us a great plus size range but for not shying away from the politics surrounding curves.
The brand still uses plus-size models frequently, and at the end of 2018 started showing what clothes look like on models of different sizes, pictured side by side – which is super useful for people of all shapes and sizes! We all know that it can be hard to tell what clothes will look like on if you’re a different size from the model pictured. Another reason why we love having PLT at the festival! It gives YOU the chance to try on the clothes without having to order the whole range first. You can see what the sizing is like, how it fits and work out your size. Don’t blame us if you do walk away with a whole new wardrobe though!
As well as a dedicated plus-size range (PLT Plus, which goes up to a size 26), their regular ranges go up to at least a size 16 an some of their limited collections (like the Ashley Graham one) goes up to a size 28 – and all the brand’s clothes are fashion-forward – bye bye boring tunic dresses!
If you’re looking for ways to spice up your style, Pretty Little Thing is a great place to start. Edgy, modern, and often just the right side of risqué, you’ll be sure to turn heads in this brand. Even better, it’s super affordable, diverse and friendly.
Catch the PLT squad in full force in The Curve Fashion Festival Fashion Hall and on the catwalk. Book your spot now before tickets sell out!
