Festival Favourites Apple & Pears Return to TCFF19
We are so excited to welcome back Festival Favourites Apples and Pears to The Curve Fashion Festival 2019. Apples and Pears is all about plus-size fashion – it caters to sizes 16-32, with plenty of styles to choose from. It’s based in Colchester, Essex, and has a great site where you can shop online. At TCFF19, you’ll be able to shop the brand in the Market Hall and they always have a host of sizes and styles to choose from.
Set up in 2012, it aimed to plug a gap in the market. Founder Liz Smith wasn’t impressed by the range of options available for plus-size ladies (we’ve all been there)… so she did something about it! Apples and Pears started as a market stall, which went around local events, but the business really took off when it went online.
One of the reasons it’s done so well is because the online site has tons of information to help you choose the right clothes for you. You don’t have to rely on labels and guesswork – Apples and Pears gives detailed measurements for each and every item, plus useful pictures so that you can see exactly how to check your own measurements. It also offers free returns within 30 days, so you have plenty of time to try garments on at home.

Another reason is that the clothes there are nice – as you might expect from a company set up to combat boring plus-size style! You’ll find plenty of statement pieces there, set apart by their fit; Liz Smith is always on the lookout for flattering pattern cuts. Expect clothes which show off your shape (and make it look good). No shapeless sacks here.
Although they don’t have a physical store, if you’re a die-hard buy-in-person shopper (and based not too far from Essex), you can find their pop-up stall at local events all around the area. Although they try to have a wide range of sizes and shapes on hand all the time, you can also email beforehand to make sure they’ll bring a variety of clothes in your size (and you’ll always be able to try them on).
Roll on November and grab your ticket to the festival now!
