Hey girl Hey! Marie here, from The Curvy Fashionista! Even though I am based in the US, I have to admit, from the beginning of my plus size blogging journey, many of my searches and scores have come from across the pond and beyond! So when I had the chance to share a few of my favorites and why, I knew immediately who and what brands to show some love too!
But I must share, I am no stranger to England! Having a mother in the military has afforded my early adult life living and visiting Newquay over around Cornwall! Even my baby sister did high school on the northern outskirts of London, which I am still a bit jealous about!
But back to the fashion, that is what you are here for… right?
Well in no particular order, please let me share with you my top 10 UK Plus Size Fashion Faves and Highlights!
Slink Magazine. Listen. Rivkie kills it each month and has been blazing a new path for plus size publishing with her magazine, SLINK! From the amazing editorials, edgy and innovative shoots, Rivkie has consistently been giving plus size fashion a new voice in places rarely seen, IN PRINT!
Stephanie from Nerd Bout Town. Stephanie has such a sweet spot for me. Her eye for style, passion for plus size fashion, and having her finger on the pulse of UK fashion, Stephanie is surely one who is doing her thing over there and who I admire and respect! I am often checking her site for the newest and latest over there!
ASOS. I remember when they first introduced the Curve range. I remember fit model Vanessa Reece, RIP who put me onto this range. The ASOS curve range has since grown and evolved, giving us a renewed perspective of plus size fashion and access to designers, silhouettes, and style that we do not always get a chance to play in. ASOS will always be a staple for me.
George from Fuller Figure, Fuller Bust. Georgina is my boo. My first introduction to Georgina was via her Volupt2 spread, and I was like, OMGGGG WHOOO is this!?! Through a few blogger campaigns, George and I had the chance to connect, bond, and support each other through our blogs! Her work is vital in plus size lingerie and I am loving how she has taken her brand to newer heights each year!
Anna Scholz. Man! Anna Scholz was my first celebrity designer interview. I lost it when I called across the pond, from my mother’s landline (sorry mom), and had the chance to speak with her. She was everything and I fell in love with her ever since. A leader in plus size fashion, Anna Scholz stays giving us bold prints and hues, that we do not see elsewhere! I <3 Anna.
Callie of from the Corners of the Curve. Forever the sweetheart, I remember having more than a few conversations with her when I came over for the Evans photoshoot I was a part of! Her self-love story is quite admirable and her recent appointment to Marie Claire only tops it all off quite nicely! I cannot wait to see what she gives us with Marie Claire!
EVANS Collective Show. I love watching these shows happen during fashion week, and their last show had to be one of my favorites, as they introduced more collaborations and the latest from their design competition. Evans has a sweet spot and has supported me since I started long ago and I love to see how they have elevated their brand and collections!
Danielle Vanier. Stays slaying the fashion game over there. Her effortless edge, playful polish, married with her sass and you have the ever so fashionable powerhouse serving up plus size fashion! In addition to her being all types of flawless, she is an amazingly sweet and someone I am grateful to call friend!
Simply Be. About 50% of my closet comes from them. From cocktail dresses, blazers, wide calf boots, and denim, Simply Be has been a long time fashion haunt from the wheee early days of my blog! I can always count on them to deliver more than a few great pieces that I will love each season!
All of Your Fashion Magazines. Seriously! I love all of the magazines over there, from the packaging, smaller versions, and the amazing gift with purchases, your fashion magazines read a lot different than ours, and I always make sure to purchase at least every UK counterpart to our US magazines to compare and contrast stories, ads, and gifts!
This is only a very short list, but one of the reasons why I cannot wait to get back over to London! One day, hopefully sooner than later!
What are your top UK fashion highlights? I would loooove to know!
